These would be running an ecommerce type of business, and these can be very successful for people. You could sell your own product, or sell from an affiliate program where you would be paid a commission from all sales.

Other people decide to build content rich website and get their income from advertising on the site. There are many ways in which you can earn income from advertising and you would need to decide how you want to do that. This type of site can take many hours to build as you have to get the content written and then added to the site.

Another model for a website is to have a membership site. You would need to decide on the structure for this model, what you will give your clients in return for a subscription paid each month.

You might decide to have a combination of all three as this would increase your income. You would need to decide on a topic and then find products in that niche to sell. You could offer to put adverts from other people who are in that niche, again giving you another stream of income. Finally, you could add a membership site relevant to that topic with more information for your subscribers.

Whatever, type of business model you decide on you will then to create a business plan to see the business not only developed but built upon, to see your income increasing. You should spend time considering the model you want for your business, before you start to build. You can always change aspects of your business but you need to know what does and doesn't work for you. This will be seen as you test each aspect of your business model. You should be looking to build a business that will last the length of time you want to be involved in it, and beyond as you sell the business to another person.
